Grade Level: 5-8; 9-12

This source-based teaching guide introduces students to the story of the UN, its history and mission. By learning about the founding of the UN and analyzing textual and visual primary sources from the early years of the Organization, students will learn about the place of the UN within the post-World War II era. The goal is for students to understand the unique role of the UN in the global quest to ensure a peaceful and prosperous life for humanity.
